Medical Director – Clinical Research and Development​​

Cara Therapeutics, Inc, a clinical-stage biotechnology located in Stamford, CT is looking for a medical director to oversee medical activities related to its Chronic Kidney Disease-associated Pruritus Phase III clinical program. The medical director will be instrumental in supporting Cara’s projects in the development of a first-in-class, novel compound KORSUVATM (difelikefalin oral formulation) for the symptomatic treatment of pruritus patients with chronic kidney disease. The candidate will have hands-on responsibility for monitoring the clinical studies and providing medical guidance to the clinical team. This role will require deft execution in a rapid pace biotech environment.

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a member of a field-based team of scientists who function as an extension of the Medical Affairs organization.  MSLs are responsible for developing and enhancing professional relationships with medical thought leaders throughout various phases of drug development.  MSLs provide medical information through scientific exchange in a fair-balanced, ethical manner and provide clinical/scientific support for Cara Therapeutics and the Medical Affairs department at the direction of Medical Affairs management.

This is a field-based position and requires professionals to credibly interact with thought leaders and centers of excellence.  Travel required.
