National Director, MSLs (Nephrology/Dermatology)

The position involves travel of more than 60%.
***Candidates must live close to a major airport.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Develop and implement field medical strategy and priorities for the MSL team, including development of MSL territory plans, in alignment with Medical Affairs strategic imperatives
• Lead a national team of MSLs with therapeutic focus in Nephrology and Dermatology, including hiring for open territories, professional development and training, and field rides and coaching
• Represent the MSL team on strategic projects and workstreams when needed, including supporting the enrollment of Cara-sponsored research programs
• Facilitate the collection, analysis, and internal communication of key field insights
• Represent the field medical team in launch planning activities
• Ensure compliant practices and interactions with HCPs in alignment with SOPs, regulatory requirements, and applicable laws

Skills/Knowledge Required:

• Advanced scientific degree (MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, or DNP highly desired)
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in an MSL, or equivalent position required
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal communication, and presentation skills are required
• Demonstrated ability to translate corporate strategic imperatives to effective field medical strategic plans, including territory plans
• Full understanding of compliant interactions between MSLs and HCPs
• Must be a strong team player and effectively collaborate with other internal departments
• Overnight business travel of more than 60% is required

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Experience leading an MSL team either as a Regional or National Director highly preferred
• Experience in Nephrology or Dermatology therapeutic areas preferred
